Waterproof kids watch: what IP67 really means
Children wash their hands, play in the rain and forget the watch on their wrist when they run to the bath. Before you choose, here is what the IP67 rating you will see on some models means, and above all what it does not.

What to look for
What the IP code says
The IP rating is defined by the international standard IEC 60529. The first digit is protection against dust (6 means fully dust-tight) and the second is protection against water.
What the 7 means
That the device survived temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes, under test conditions. In real life: hand washing, rain, a jump in a puddle.
Not for swimming
IP67 does not cover swimming, diving, shower or jet pressure, hot water, chlorine or salt water. So: no watch in the pool, the sea or the bath.
Dry before charging
If it gets wet, wipe the watch and let the charging contacts dry fully before you charge it. Do not heat it with a hair dryer or on a radiator.

Setup tips
- Check the water rating on each model's page. If it is not listed, ask us before you buy.
- Teach your child one simple rule: "Watch off before water", for the pool, the sea and the bath.
- After rain or mud, wipe the watch with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it.
- Do not open the SIM slot while the watch is wet, and close it firmly after every SIM change.
- If you see moisture under the screen, switch the watch off, do not charge it, and contact us.
Good to know before you buy
- Not every model has the same rating: some Wonlex watches are IP67, others are splash-resistant only.
- IP ratings are measured on a new device in a lab. Over time, knocks and soap wear the seals.
- Ratings in ATM or metres on other watches come from a different standard (ISO 22810) and do not compare directly with IP67.
- Before you rely on water resistance, ask us how water damage is handled under the warranty.
Questions parents ask
Can my child have a bath with the watch on?
No. Even with IP67, hot water, steam, soap and shower pressure are not covered by the test. Take the watch off before the bath.
What about the sea or the pool?
No. IP67 is about temporary immersion in still water, not swimming, diving, salt or chlorine.
Which Wonlex models are IP67?
The rating differs by model, and we list it in each watch's specifications once Wonlex confirms it. If you do not see it, ask us before you order.
What is the difference between IP67 and IP68?
Both mean full protection against dust. With IP68 the manufacturer states resistance to immersion beyond 1 metre, under conditions it sets itself, so you need to check each model's terms. Neither means a watch for swimming.
