SOS watch for elderly parents
If your mother or father lives alone, an SOS watch gives them one button to reach you and lets you call them back on the spot. Here is what it does, how to set it up together and what it can't replace.
- Official Wonlex dealer in Greece
- Official dealer warranty
- Support in Greek
- No subscription: works with your own SIM
What to look for
One SOS button to reach family
A press of the SOS button calls and alerts the family numbers you set in the app. No menus to remember in a stressful moment.
Location when you need it
From the app you can see roughly where the watch is, using GPS, mobile-network and Wi‑Fi positioning. Useful if your parent is out and can't explain where they are.
Two-way calls on the wrist
Your parent can talk to you through the watch and you can call them. Handy when the phone is in another room or at the bottom of a bag.
A simple charging routine
Like any smartwatch, it needs regular charging. Choose a fixed moment, for example by the bedside at night, so the watch is always ready.

Setup tips
- Set the watch up together with your parent and explain each step. Agree on who answers an SOS call, and add at least two family numbers.
- Prepare the nano-SIM first: mobile data and caller ID on, PIN removed, minutes for calls.
- Do a test SOS together so your parent knows what happens when they press it.
- Put the charger by the bed and make charging a daily habit.
- Leave a note by the charger: "SOS: press and hold the button". In a stressful moment, a note helps.
- Ask everyone on the SOS list to save the watch's number, so they do not ignore a call from an "unknown" number.
- Make a test call somewhere quiet and somewhere noisy, to check your parent can hear comfortably.
Good to know before you buy
- It is not a medical device and does not replace medical care.
- It does not replace the emergency services or a monitored alarm service. SOS reaches the family numbers you set; in an emergency, call 112.
- It needs mobile coverage, an active SIM and a charged battery to work.
- An older adult has the right to decide. Use the watch with your parent's knowledge and agreement, never to track another adult secretly.
- We do not list fall detection or health readings for the watch because we have not confirmed them. Do not rely on such features.
Questions parents ask
Who does the SOS button call?
The family numbers you set in the app. It does not call an emergency service or a monitoring centre, so make sure someone can answer.
Is it difficult for an older person to use?
The everyday use is simple: wear it, answer calls and press SOS when needed. The settings are done by you from the app on your phone.
Does it need a SIM card?
Yes, a nano-SIM with mobile data, caller ID on and minutes for calls. The SIM is your own and is not included. See our SIM guide for the setup steps.
Can I track my parent without telling them?
No. Location data is personal data under the GDPR, and an adult decides for themselves. Talk with your parent, explain what you see in the app, and use it only with their agreement.
Does it have fall detection?
Yes, the KT17S and the 4G SOS watch have fall detection: when they sense a fall they can alert the family. No fall detection catches every fall, so the SOS button stays the main way to call for help.
Will it work in the village?
It works wherever the SIM operator has coverage. If your parent spends a lot of time in a remote area, choose the operator with the best coverage there.
Can they wear it in the shower?
Check the water rating on the product page. If none is listed, take the watch off before bathing. Ask us if you are unsure.
